Headteacher’s Message
I can't quite believe that we have already reached the halfway point of this academic year. It is a pleasure to reflect on what has been another busy, vibrant and rewarding few weeks. Our school continues to be a hive of activity, and there is much to celebrate. Our website and Seesaw pages capture just some of the many moments of success and celebration across the school, which I hope has given you a glimpse of some of the learning opportunities the children have to support their development each day.
Through my daily classroom visits, I have been delighted to see focused, engaged pupils who are truly living our school values. Children also regularly visit me in my office to share their learning and achievements, and it is a joy to hear them speak with such pride and confidence.
This term, pupils have embraced all aspects of school life, from languages, sport, art and music to the wide range of enrichment opportunities that allow them to follow their individual interests. At the same time, we remain committed to raising standards in Literacy and Maths, and our work as a Voice 21 School continues to strengthen pupils’ oracy skills across the curriculum; pupils are growing in confidence as articulate, thoughtful speakers who can express their ideas clearly and respectfully.
My sincere thanks go to our dedicated staff for creating such a supportive, ambitious learning environment, and to parents and carers for your continued encouragement and engagement. Your partnership plays a vital role in helping our pupils thrive.
Looking ahead, the coming weeks are full of exciting events and opportunities for our pupils. Please see below upcoming dates for the remainder of this term.
We look forward to welcoming you into school for our upcoming parent–teacher meetings in March, which will provide an opportunity to discuss your child’s progress this year and explore ways you can continue to support their learning at home. As always, if you have any concerns or would like a longer discussion, please do let us know. We will also be opening our doors on March 31st for our Open Afternoon which will give the children the chance to share their learning and achievements with you in their classrooms.
As we finish this half-term, I wish you a restful and enjoyable break with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming the children back refreshed and ready for the next half of the Spring term on 23rd February.
Best wishes,
Claire Hammond
