Dear Parents and Carers,

As we come to the end of another busy and successful term, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support of our school community.

We have been delighted by the excellent turnout at the many events held this term, and your enthusiasm and involvement make such a positive difference to our pupils’ experiences. In particular, thank you to everyone who attended our recent Open Afternoon. It was a pleasure to welcome so many of you into school, and we are extremely grateful for the kind and encouraging feedback we received. Your positive comments about our school, staff and pupils mean a great deal to us and are truly appreciated.

It has been a term full of learning, creativity and achievement, and your support at home and in school plays a vital role in helping our children to thrive. On behalf of all the staff, thank you for working in partnership with us and for being such an engaged and supportive school community.

I would like to wish you all a Happy and restful Easter. We hope you enjoy spending time with family and friends, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for another exciting term ahead.

We are delighted to be welcoming our new Deputy Head, Mrs Morris, who will be joining us after the Easter holidays. We are very much looking forward to her becoming part of our school community and supporting the continued development of our school.

Mrs Morris will be leading on Curriculum and Assessment and will work closely in collaboration with staff during her first term. Her initial focus will be on developing our History and Geography planning, teaching, and learning, ensuring high-quality provision and positive outcomes for all pupils.

The start of the Summer Term means our children in KS2 will have the opportunity to enjoy a residential trip. Please see the link below for more information.

Miss Hammond spoke to the children today in assembly about our new Bel Royal School Mascot and has set the children a challenge to create a mascot over the Easter Holidays. Miss Hammond will post the challenge to the children via Seesaw.

- Include a drawing (coloured if possible)

All entries will be judged for creativity, linked to our school values and effort. The winning design will become our official school mascot.

Today we said a fond farewell to Mrs Quenault on her last day at Bel Royal School, as she begins her well-earned retirement after an incredible 18 years supporting and nurturing children in our Early Years.

We would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to Claire for her many years of hard work, commitment and continuous support. Through her time at Bel Royal Nursery, she helped set the foundations for the children's learning ready for their move up to Reception. Her kindness, patience, and warmth have touched the lives of so many families and colleagues.

Claire, we are truly grateful for everything you have given to our school community. We wish you a very happy, healthy and fulfilling retirement.

As we move towards the end of this term, we would like to offer a gentle reminder about our school uniform expectations.

Bel Royal Primary School – Uniform

Please ensure that children wear trainers only on their PE days, and not as everyday school shoes. Thank you for helping us maintain our uniform standards – we really appreciate your support.

With the warmer weather on the way, you may be thinking about a summer uniform. To make things easier, we will have our pre-loved clothes rail in the foyer next week, stocked with summer dresses and shorts.

After Easter Mr Dolamn will be running the following clubs:

- Tuesday: Y5 & Y6 Cricket club 3.15pm - 4.15pm - including games in a Mixed Kwik Cricket league. (20 places)

​- Wednesday: Y3 & 4 Cricket club 3.15pm - 4.15pm – Held on the school field where children will apply catching, throwing, fielding and batting to learn the rules of cricket in small-sided games. (20 places)

​- Friday: Y1 & 2 Cricket club – Held on the school field where children will learn throwing, catching and batting fundamental skills. (15 places)

Bel Royal will be taking part in the Art in the Arches project this year. We are very excited to be working together with artist and educator Jacqueline Rutter.

Are you looking for a fun and active way to keep your child engaged on the upcoming Inset Day (20th April)?

We’re running a Kickboxing Holiday Camp at Haute Vallée School, and it’s the perfect opportunity for children to try something new and see what Kickboxing is all about - no experience needed at all.

This camp is ideal for beginners and those already doing our Kickboxing classes. It’s a great chance to build confidence and learn new skills through fun games:

• Fitness, coordination, confidence and discipline

Join the Jersey Music Service and Jersey Symphony Orchestra for an Oboe & Bassoon Discovery Session!

We are delighted to invite children in Year 3 and above to an Oboe & Bassoon Discovery Session taking place on the morning of Friday 10 April from 11.30am – 12.15pm at Les Quennevais School.

Come along and learn about these lesser-known woodwind instruments, with an opportunity to hold and try out the instruments under friendly guidance. If you have a recorder – bring it along too, to learn a short fun piece!

The session will be led by visiting oboist Nicola Hands, who will be performing in concert with the Jersey Symphony Orchestra the following day.

This event is a collaboration between JET and the Lowe’s Legacy Fund (set up in memory of Dean and Charlie Lowe, who were tragically killed by a hit and run drunk driver).

This is an all inclusive fun run, walk, scurry (or however you choose to do it) which is 1 mile long along the harbour arms (dressed as squirrels if possible but not essential). 

After that Scurry you can enjoy yourself in the family fun zone where there will be food and drink stalls, face painting and live music, so bring your picnic blankets and enjoy the day.
