Message from Miss Hammond

Transition Mornings

The children have enjoyed two wonderful transition mornings as they began preparing for the next stage of their school journey.

The sessions provided an opportunity for children to spend time in their new classrooms, meet the teachers and support staff who will be working with them in September, and become familiar with their new learning environments. It was lovely to see the children approach the experience with such enthusiasm, confidence and excitement for the year ahead.

Staffing

As mentioned in my previous message, we will be saying a fond farewell to some valued members of staff who are moving on to new opportunities.

We will be saying goodbye to Miss Benn, who has been part of the Bel Royal family for the past 4 years. During her time with us, she has been an exceptional class teacher and a passionate advocate for our MML children, leading this important area of school life with dedication and care. Miss Benn has worked closely with the Every Child Our Future initiative and was our English lead. As lead for our school library project, Miss Benn has been instrumental in securing funding for a wealth of new books and developing our partnership with Jersey Library, helping to create an inspiring reading environment for all our children. Miss Benn's commitment, enthusiasm and tireless work have made a lasting impact on our school community, and we wish her every success and happiness in her next chapter.

After almost 11 years of dedicated service, Mrs Laurent will be leaving us. Throughout her time at the school, she has been a welcoming and supportive presence for the children, families and staff, and we thank Mrs Laurent for her commitment and contribution over the years.

After over 20 years at Bel Royal school, Mrs Du Val's retirement is coming up in July. We are delighted that, although stepping back from her full-time role as a class teacher, she will continue to be part of the Bel Royal family on a part-time basis.

We are also delighted to welcome new colleagues who will be joining our team in September.

Mrs Bannister, who will be teaching Year 5, and Miss Wilson, who will be teaching Year 3. Many of the children had the opportunity to meet them during our transition mornings, and we know they are looking forward to becoming part of our school community.

We look forward to the skills, experience and enthusiasm they will bring to our school and know that they will quickly become valued members of the Bel Royal family.

Please join us in thanking our departing colleagues for all they have contributed to the school and in extending a warm welcome to our new staff members.

Beach morning

The children had a wonderful time during our beach morning last week. They took part in a variety of fun activities, including cricket, beach volleyball and other beach games. The morning on the beach was followed by a lovely whole-school picnic lunch on the KS2 playground, giving everyone the opportunity to relax and enjoy time together. We are also delighted to share that the event raised an amazing £338. Thank you to everyone who supported the day for Autism Jersey and helped make it such a memorable success for our children.

Congratulations Miss Kiszka and Miss Le Quesne

Both have successfully completed their CACHE Level 3 training (Supporting Teaching and Learning). This reflects their hard work and dedication in supporting pupils within our school.

Well done!
