Summer 2025

Dear Parents, Carers, and Families,

As we come to the end of another academic year, I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support, encouragement, and partnership. It has been a year full of learning, growth, and memorable moments—and I am incredibly proud of everything our school community has achieved together.

Our core values—Include, Believe, Achieve—have been at the heart of everything we have done. We have seen children supporting one another with kindness, showing belief in their abilities, and striving to reach their goals with determination and joy. These values are not just words on a wall—they are lived out every day in our classrooms, playgrounds, and beyond.

I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated staff, who work tirelessly to create a nurturing and inspiring environment for our pupils. Their passion and commitment make our school a truly special place. Each Unique, Together We Thrive.

Yesterday we shared the news that our Deputy Head Teacher, Mr Mills, will be taking early retirement at the end of this term. He has been a valued member of our school community for seven years and his dedication, leadership, and care for our pupils and staff have made a lasting difference.

One of the many highlights of his time with us has been introducing and leading the Key Stage 2 residentials - an experience that has created lasting memories for both pupils and staff. His enthusiasm, organisation, and commitment to ensuring every child had a positive and enriching experience will be greatly missed.

Mr Mills has also shared a deep love of teaching, especially in the areas of outdoor learning, maths, science, and design & technology. These passions have inspired many of us and brought learning to life in meaningful and engaging ways.

While we are sad to see him leave, we are also incredibly grateful for the time, energy, and passion he has given to our school.

We wish him all the very best for a happy, healthy, and fulfilling retirement.

We are thrilled to share that this summer will see some exciting improvements to our school facilities, all designed to enhance learning and support for our pupils:

  • New Food Technology Room
A fully equipped space where pupils can explore cooking, nutrition, and practical life skills. This hands-on learning environment will support cross-curricular links and promote healthy lifestyles.

  • New Additional Resource Provision (ARP)
We are proud to be developing a dedicated Additional Resource Provision to provide tailored support for pupils with additional needs. This space will offer a calm, nurturing environment with specialist resources and staff.

  • Bespoke Landscaped Outdoor Continuous Provision Area
Designed to complement the ARP, this outdoor space will offer rich opportunities for sensory play, exploration, and learning in nature. It will be fully accessible and thoughtfully designed to meet a wide range of needs.

  • Library Upgrade: Enhancing our book collection and creating an engaging space to inspire a love of reading.

These projects reflect our ongoing commitment to inclusion, innovation, and excellence in education. We can’t wait to welcome our pupils back in September to enjoy these fantastic new spaces!

To our Year 6 pupils moving on to new adventures: we are so proud of you. You leave us with wonderful memories and the confidence that you are ready for the next chapter. Remember—you will always be part of our school family.

To all our families, I wish you a restful and happy summer break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in September, refreshed and ready for another exciting year ahead.

With warmest wishes,
Claire Hammond
Headteacher
