๐ ๏ธ Exciting Developments Over the Summer
Over the holidays, weโve made some exciting improvements to our school environment:
A huge thank you to Mr Jones, who worked tirelessly throughout the holidays to help coordinate work and ensured that our school is all clean, safe and ready for the start of term.
๐ Drop-Off and Pick-Up Arrangements
As returning families will know, we continue to work hard to ensure a safe, efficient, and stress-free drop-off and pick-up experience. However, due to the nature of traffic and the busyness of the surrounding area, this remains a challenge. I am continuing to work closely with the Government of Jersey and the parish to explore ways to improve this, and I strongly encourage families to consider active, car-free travel wherever possible to help reduce congestion.
Please take note of the following arrangements and pick up points for each year group this term:
Morning Drop-Off (8:30โ8:45am)
End-of-Day Pick-Up Times
Front of school
Children will wait at the Nursery entrance with staff. Please leave promptly to avoid overlapping with Reception families.
Front of school
Staff will bring children to you or your car. Please leave promptly before the older year groups finish.

๐ Communication and Key Dates
WhatsApp
In the past, parents were encouraged to use WhatsApp groups as a way to share information. While these groups were set up with good intentions, we now understand that they bring challenges we cannot easily manage as a school. WhatsApp groups are not monitored, which means that information shared there may be inaccurate, inconsistent, or sometimes even exclude families who are not part of the group. School parent representatives have also been required to take on significant extra responsibility for information sharing on behalf of others. There are also data protection concerns, as personal contact details are visible to everyone in the group.
To make sure all families receive the same clear, accurate and secure information, we ask that parents take responsibility for their own child by keeping up-to-date and in touch with school using the official school channels.
- Seesaw for class updates, messages and sharing of childrenโs learning.
- Email, newsletters and website for whole-school information and notices.
- The school office for urgent enquiries, absences or matters needing a direct response.
- A phone call or face-to-face meeting/quick catch-up.
We know many of you have found WhatsApp groups useful in the past, and we are grateful for the way parents have supported each other. This change is about making sure that our communication remains safe, inclusive, and consistent for everyone.

Communication between school and home is key to ensuring our children succeed. I encourage you to stay engaged with your childโs education through Seesaw, and please donโt hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.
You will receive a message from your childโs new class teacher, along with information about curriculum focus and key dates for the term. These, along with other important updates, can be found on our school website.
Teachers have been busy planning, preparing and organising enabling learning environments ready for their new class. It is lovely to see many of the children responding to their teachers' welcome messages on Seesaw this week.
โ๏ธ INSET Day Reminder
Please note that school will be closed on Thursday 11th September for an INSET day in line with the Jersey International Air Display.
