Our language of the month is Jèrriais. Jèrriais is Jersey’s native language, which has been spoken for over 1,000 years and remains a cherished part of our island’s heritage.
This morning, we welcomed Charlie Le Maistre from the Jèrriais Teaching Service into our whole‑school assembly. Charlie introduced us to the history and sounds of Jèrriais and taught us a song about friendship. Marco confidently shared a Jèrriais poem he learnt and performed at the Eisteddfod.
Charlie also runs a Jèrriais After‑School Club on Thursdays. If your child is interested in joining the club, please let your child's class teacher or the school office know.
