Bel Royal Primary School got 3rd place in their heat at the De Putron challenge. On the 17th of March, Bel Royal competed in a challenge called the De Putron Challenge held at the Royal Jersey Show Ground. They competed against eight other schools and each school had 3 competitors. The competitors from Bel Royal were Aubrey, Nyla and Amelie.
To compete, you had to pick 3 people from each school. When Year 6 went, they had 4 events to compete in. These events were STEM, Maths, Kahoot and, lastly, the buzzer round where they asked current affairs questions. Here are some quotes from the competitors themselves. Nyla Benning: "It was really fun but also intense. All the different schools were screaming for their group and there were really bright lights that almost blinded me, but my team was really supportive and it was an awesome experience. There you go; that was Nyla, the deputy captain of the Royal Family Group.
Overall, Bel Royal, known as the Royalty family, came 3rd in their heat with 19 points, which was only 2 points away from being 2nd place and going on to the second round. Miss Hammond, Bel Royal's Head Teacher, was very competitive and wanted us to win, but Mrs Fairhead, Year 6 teacher, on the other hand, was glad that they didn't get into the 2nd round because if the team did, they would have been very late for their lunch.
Over all, Bel Royal did very well and the school were very proud with their 3rd place at the end of the day.
