This morning, children from Year 4 and Year 2 were treated to a music workshop provided by Music in Action. The concert linked to their recent history curriculum and the children learnt about some of the Queens and Kings of England, from Queen Ann to King William IV (1702-1837).
The concert was a fun and imaginative exploration of these characters and the times in which they lived. Music was cleverly weaved into the presentation from the 4-piece orchestra, and the children heard a variety of pieces, presented with the aim of stimulating their imaginations, drawing them in to engage with the music they hear.
As this week has been deaf awareness week, the children were also taught a number of signs to use through the performance including the signing for 'Long live the King!'.
